Tour Rules and Procedures
Rules of Play:  Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and the tournament rules committee.  The tournament rules committee is comprised of tour staff and volunteer rules officials.  Players will receive a tournament rules and information sheet prior to each event to help determine most rulings.  In case of indecision a final decision will be made by the tournament rules committee. 

Format:  All events will be stroke play, unless designated otherwise.
 

Tournament Registration:  All members must register prior to the event deadline to be included in the tournament.  If space is available after the deadline players will be allowed to sign-up with a $20 additional penalty on a first come first serve bases.
 

Prize Money:  Tournament Purses are based on players entry fee, course fees, and added sponsor money.
 

Payment of winnings:  The tour will payout 30-35% of the field at each event.  Player’s winnings are based on a standardized percentage scale created by the tour.  Everyone receiving a paycheck must fill out a W-9 (U.S. resident) or W-8 (non-resident alien) Income tax form prior to receiving their check.  W-9 and W-8 forms will be provided for players at registration.  All Paychecks will be mailed to each professional no more than 1 week after the event.
 

Practice Rounds:  The player will be in charge of setting up and paying for practice rounds with the host golf courses.
 

Caddies:  The California Players Tour permits caddies at all of its tournaments.  All player caddies must check in at the registration area to check out a caddy bib.  Only caddies with a tour caddy bib will be allowed to carry a player’s bag and give advice. 
 

Carts:  Carts will be allowed at events but are not included in a players entry fee, unless designated differently by the tournament committee.
 

Behavior:   Unprofessional behavior by a player and or caddie will not be tolerated.  Objectionable conduct including club throwing, foul language, abuse of the golf course, or golf course property, abuse of officials, alcohol or drugs impaired behavior, or any conduct unbecoming a lady or gentleman may result in player suspension.
 

Dress Requirements:  All players must be dressed professionally with a collard shirt and pants, or appropriate length shorts.  Ladies are permitted to where skirts. Player’s caddies must also be dressed professionally with a collared shirt and pants or shorts. Players and caddies not dressed appropriately will be asked to change 
 

No-Metal Spikes:  Players must wear alternative soft spikes in their golf shoes.


Cell Phones: 
The use of cell phones is not permitted during competition, unless authorized by the committee member, to call for assistance of a rules decision, or a medical emergency.  This includes players, caddies, and spectators  

Yardage Finders:  Range finders will be allowed during the events as long as they are USGA Tournament Approved (can not show slope or wind). 
 

Pace of Play:  4 hrs 30 minutes.  Players not meeting the time allotted may be penalized and possibly suspended from future events. 
 

Spectators:  The California Players Tour permits spectators at all of its tournaments subject to course restrictions.  Spectators at no time during the course of a round may approach a player to give advice.  If spectators are seen giving advice the spectator will be removed from the golf course.  All spectators must be properly dressed and behave appropriately.
 

Drug and Alcohol use:  The California Players Tour does not permit drug or alcohol use during tournament play.  Any golfer found to break this rule will be disqualified from the event.
