2010 will mark the beginning of a new era with the introduction of Players Golf Tournaments. The tour is built on the philosophy that no tournament can thrive without players and therefore the first priority of any tournament should be to serve the needs of each and every player to the best of our ability at all times. Here are some highlights of the new tour that show that member costs will be kept down while offering more value.
Player registration fee's will be very reasonable, and renewals in future years even more so. Event costs will be lower but will include lunch at every event. Players will have options on how to redeem prizes so that winning tournaments has the best value for each individual player. We will use each player’s accurately tracked handicap to insure fair competition at every event. We will have Three sections which will allow for larger payouts throughout the season. Most importantly the Staff will be responsive and customer service oriented. The staff will never take you for granted, will answer all your inquires in a timely and straight forward manner. Tournaments kick off in Orlando and Jacksonville the week of February 20th and I look forward to a great season. Please call or email with any questions, comments or concerns any time. ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE The Annual Tour Fee for registered players for the Players Golf Tournaments is $59 for players registered by January 31st and $69 Thereafter. Registration is valid for the 2010 calendar year. Tour Players will be able to renew membership in future years for $39. All Registered Players will receive discounted entry fees into all events as well as a Players Tournament Hat.
EVENT COSTS Registered Players costs for single day events will generally be $95 to $99 and will include golf, cart, range, prize pool, taxes and LUNCH. Non Members may play in individual events but will pay a slightly higher fee ( usually $10 ).
SECTIONS The events will consist of play in 3 distinct Sections: Section One: 0-7.9 index Section Two: 8.0-15.9 index Section Three: 16.0- up index
A) Tee boxes will be assigned based on 3 classifications within each section: OPEN ( Men 54 and under ) SENIOR ( Men 55 and Over ) WOMEN . In some cases the tee boxes will be the same while other times they may be different
B) Each player will be assigned a Course Handicap (CH) number based on their tour index and in accordance with the tee box they will be playing from. The order of finish in each flight will be based on each player’s NET Score.
For example in flight 2 Joe Sasser shoots a 86 with a Course Handicap of 9 while Rick Metzger shoots a 83 with a Course Handicap of 5. Joe would have a net 77 while Rick would have a Net 78.
Once players have participated in 3 Players Tournaments they will have an official Players Tournament Index and will be placed in the proper section based on this number at all future events. A players index will vary throughout the year based on his or her performance and will always be the best current reflection of their ability. *The Director reserves the right to adjust indexes for players at any time to insure competitive balance and absolutely NO SANDBAGGING will be tolerated.
PRIZES Trophies will be awarded to the winner of each flight. In addition a certain % of each flight will share in the Prize Pool which is derived from Player Entry Fee’s and in some cases Sponsorships. Players who win prize awards can redeem them in 3 ways:
- TGW Gift Cards ( These will be emailed to you within 72 hours of the event )
- Tournament Dollars ( This will be credit you can use toward future Players Tournaments )
- Visa Gift Cards ( Players can redeem prize balances on May 1st, July 1st , September 1st and December 1st for their current balance less a small service fee charged by the card issuer (about $5) )
Players Golf Tournaments wishes to provide the most value it can for all members and allowing you to choose your form of award is one way we can do that. In NO circumstances will product or specific manufacturer gift cards be awarded as prizes at Players Golf Tournaments. Your entry fees have value and your prizes should as well.
