WOMEN’S AUXILIARY

Rules and Regulations 

ARTICLE I

NAME

The name of this Auxiliary shall be called the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club Women’s Auxiliary.


ARTICLE II

PURPOSE

To render service to the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club and its members, to stimulate interest in the activities of the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club, securing understanding and support of the Yacht Club, to engage in ftrndraising activities to expand, contribute, disburse and otherwise handle and dispose of the same for such purposes that benefit the Yacht Club; provided that no such activities of the Yacht Club shall be such as are prohibited by the Yacht Club By-Laws, officers and Board of Directors.

No part of the Auxiliary’s net earnings shall directly or indirectly benefit any member, except that reasonable compensation may be paid for services rendered. No person or persons can appropriate funds without proper approval of 2/3 of a quorum of at least 15 members of the attending membership. Funds spent without membership approval shall not exceed $100.00(One Hundred dollars).


 
ARTICLE III

MEMBERSHIP

The membership in the auxiliary shall be open to all adult women members who are willing to uphold the purpose of the Yacht Club.



ARTICLE IV

MEETINGS

The membership shall meet in regular sessions at least four times a year between April and October. The Board shall meet prior to every regular meeting.  Special meetings may be called at any time by the President. A majority of 15 of the members may also request a special meeting.



 
ARTICLE V

OFFICERS and BOARD MEMBERS
 

Section 1. The officers of the Auxiliary to be elected by the Auxiliary membership shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. They shall hold office for one year and until their respective successors are elected.

Section 2. The Board of Directors shall be composed of the president, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Past President.


 
ARTICLE VI

ELECTION OF OFFICERS
 

Section 1. The annual election of officers shall be held at the August meeting of the Auxiliary.

Section 2. On or before the first day of July of each year, the Board shall appoint a Nominating Committee, consisting of five Auxiliary members who will present a slate to the Secretary by the first day of August. The Secretary will post the nominations on the bulletin board in the Clubhouse. Nominations in opposition to the slate must be presented to the Secretary in writing prior to the day of the August meeting.

Section 3. At the August meeting of the auxiliary, votes will be cast for all offices A 2/3 majority of a quorum of at least fifteen members is necessary to elect. The term of office for all officers will begin on the date of the Labor Day Brunch and will be for one year.



 
ARTICLE VII

STANDING COMMITTEES
 

Standing committees shall be appointed by the Board and have such powers and duties as may be delegated to them by the Board. All action taken by any committee shall be subject to approval by the Board and no indebtedness may be incurred by a committee unless authorized by the Board,

The Ship Store Committee shall oversee the functions of the Ship’s Store with input into purchases, inventory, and sales.

The Publicity Committee shall secure publicity in the local community for functions of the Auxiliary.   

The Sunday Rally Committee shall be responsible for securing volunteers for the food preparation and service at the Rallies.

The Fundraising Committee shall be responsible for overseeing various fundraising events of the Auxiliary.

The Activities Committee shall be the coordinating committee for various Auxiliary activities as shall be assigned by the Board such as Family day and the Mother’s and Father’s Day Brunches.



 
ARTICLE VII

AMENDMENTS TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS
 

These Rules and Regulations may be amended by a 2/3 majority of a quorum at a regular meeting. Suggestions for amendments should be submitted to the Board prior to the meeting.
